Yesterday we told you about the new GoPro developer program when we presented you with xensr, a sensor that helps you always get the best moments. Today we will talk more about this program.
It was yesterday, at a private event in San Francisco, that GoPro discussed the details of its Developer Program, an effort to support companies that want to develop a seamless user experience between their products and GoPro's products. It has already been running quietly for over a year with various developers, including large multinational companies, as well as smaller, innovative startups.
The GoPro Developer Program Toolkit allows you to create experiences in three main ways:
– APPS FOR MVILES: To create apps that connect to GoPro cameras. This functionality includes: camera command and control, live video preview, and media management.
– DEVICES: To create devices that connect both physically to a GoPro camera via HEROBus, and wirelessly, via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. In addition, it provides the ability to access numerous GoPro functions including: camera command and control, video management, and much more.
– BRACKETS / HOUSINGS: To create accurate and reliable mounting solutions for GoPro devices.
Among the already developed we have:
– BMW M-Laptimer App: A daily data acquisition and analysis suite for drivers. The car's telemetry data, speed, location and video records from GoPro cameras provide accurate and instructive information as well as playback of content.
– FISHER-PRICE: GoPro-compliant, kid-friendly housing integration that mounts to a suite of new products, including the Fisher-Price Jumperoo, Walker, and Gym, products to record the best moments of children's early years .
– TELEFNICA Xtreamr Mobile App: To share live video experiences through a link.
TIMECODE SYSTEMS SyncBac PRO: Timecode syncs with GoPro cameras for seamless integration into professional television and film work processes.
To access the GoPro Developer Toolkit, interested companies should visit developer.gopro.com and apply to join the GoPro Developer Program.
The GoPro Developer Program launches with a plug-in program called Works with GoPro, a product verification, and a brand association program for companies that make products that work with GoPro devices. Companies that have completed the Works with GoPro verification can enjoy the benefits of integrated marketing, including the use of the Works with GoPro logo. Consumers can enjoy Works with GoPro logo products knowing that they are verified by GoPro to work well with their products.
