They have been based on Facebook Lite, another creation that debuted a few years ago, downloading much of the code for the application that runs on the phone to the cloud.

The team focused on video and messaging, and to make performance good, much of the data-rich and ornate animation was removed, such as cube transitions and AR filters that people can apply to faces. . I will have Reels in India, but not in the global version, at least for now.

GIFs and stickers have been retained, and a dark mode option has been included, which replaces the bright white background with a black one and gray text.
