Apple Music Playlists for Speech Disorder

Warner Music, Rothco and Apple combine the potential of music and technology to help children and young people who are working with therapeutic strategies to improve the pronunciation of a word or sound.

The Apple Music algorithm was used to analyze the lyrics of the entire song catalog of the platform. The objective was to identify certain patterns of repetition in the songs, taking into account those sounds that are difficult for those with speech disorders, for example CH, D, F, G, K, L, R, S, Z and T.

From this database, Warnet Music selected the songs that were most significant to achieve the goal. About 173 songs that were divided into 10 different playlists that focus on a specific sound. Selected songs include Lizzo’s Good As Hell, Dua Lipa’s Don’t Start Now, and Fatboy Slim’s Right Here, Right Now.

Thanks to this teamwork, playlists can be a complement to the therapies and professional support that young people with speech sound disorders receive. This collection of English songs is available worldwide to all Apple Music subscribers.
