From the bing blog, Microsoft’s web search engine, they announce several improvements in the video search section.
They say they’ve redesigned it from scratch, adding simplified navigation showing larger, higher-resolution previews so you can navigate through content discovery more effectively.
In addition to finding YouTube, Hulu, and Vimeo videos, they also include content from Dailymotion, Vevo, MTV, CBS, MSN, and others, now with a rather interesting preview popup.
You just have to hover the mouse over the video to see a preview of what it offers, without having to click on it to run it. They have also included more information about it, with a number of plays, descriptions and titles showing in bold what was searched, as well as a control to adjust the volume in the previews.
The filters have also undergone an improvement, allowing to find those of specific dimensions or those of a certain source. Once the video is found, we can see a screen similar to the one shown below, with other related videos in the same panel, in the form of a carousel, and a list of related searches on the right.
As you can see, it seems that they have done the homework. The search engine is quite good, although it seems that at the moment it is not available in all countries.
