The Google team announced a series of new features for Chrome OS that improve the integration of Chromebooks with Android devices.
There are also shortcuts and functions that make it easier for users to perform different activities on the computer.
New features for Chrome OS
One of the novelties that this great update brings to Chromebooks is a new control center, Phone Hub. From this control center, users will be able to access some of the most popular mobile functions, locate the device, activate WiFi access point, reply to messages, view battery status and notifications, among other options.
And continuing with this integration with Android devices, Google also uses WiFi synchronization. That is, your Chromebook will automatically connect when it detects a trusted Wi-Fi network on your Android mobile. Of course, the only requirement is that you log in with the same Google account.
Google has also considered other functions that facilitate the activities that users perform on the computer. For example, a new clipboard that saves the last five items, multimedia controls in the quick settings, a new screenshot tool to eliminate keyboard shortcuts, and even shortcuts for important files.
Features have also been added that make it easy to set up and monitor the computers that children will use. For example, parents can set up the Google school account on the computer so that they can monitor through Family Link whether they are doing their homework.
And a bonus that you will find in this update is that the design of the app icons for Chrome OS has been renewed. On the other hand, one of the future updates will add another of the functions that we find in Android devices: Share with Nearby. So you can transfer files between your phone and Chromebook using Bluetooth or WiFi Direct.
