Dropbox launches its application directory, App Center, in beta

Dropbox started out as a simple cloud file hosting service for end users, although over time, it evolved into a suite of productivity services, with a clear business focus.

Now, from Dropbox they present the new App Center, your new directory of applications and integrations, which born today in beta phase, so that users can discover, learn and install applications and integrations from one place, according to the company.

The new App Center is gradually being rolled out internationally and organizes existing applications into a total of nine categories, including the categories of Communication, Creativity and design, and electronic signature, among others.

In addition, it also has its own search engine, but also offers a small sample of existing applications for some productivity cases, giving the option to see all the existing applications in the same category to which they correspond.

The company notes that heThe inclusion of applications in the App Center is by invitation only for Dropbox technology partners in selected categories, inviting interested parties, in case of having an application and complying with the requirements, to visit the Technology Partners page to obtain more information, and, if applicable, submit the corresponding request.

The company promises that over the next several months it will expand the number of categories available and the eligibility requirements for listing applications in the directory, in the hope that all interested developers will be able to make their applications available on the App Center.
