There are many tools for learning English, and one of them is Duolingo. Regardless of your level of knowledge of the language, you will find an interesting dynamic to learn at your own pace.
And now you can supplement your learning with a new resource from Duolingo. A podcast called Stories in English designed for users with an intermediate level of English.
Each episode is based on a true story told by its protagonists in easy-to-understand English so that users can follow and practice the language. And don’t worry, there will also be interventions in Spanish to help listeners understand the context of the story.
For example, in the first episode (21 minutes long) you will find the story of two people who will take you to different parts of the history of the United States, the fight against civil rights and the challenges they faced in different periods of their lives.
An excellent conversation to expand your English vocabulary, improve pronunciation and test your understanding of the language. You will see that they have also taken into account an important part of learning which is to become familiar with the different accents.
This same dynamic will be repeated in the different episodes, so you will have as a basis different themes, life stories and vocabulary to reinforce your learning of English. And don’t forget that you can also use the options that Spotify offers in podcasts as aids in your learning.
For example, you have the option to go back about 15 seconds each episode if you need to hear any expressions again. You can also slow down the audio or use the episode transcript to review certain words or read the entire conversation.
