Facebook is testing a new dynamic for stories. Although Instagram stories can be shared on Facebook, the same does not happen the other way around. But this may change in the near future.
Apparently, users will soon be able to count on cross-platform stories to take from Instagram to Facebook and vice versa.
According to a new discovery by Jane Manchun Wong, Facebook is testing this option as shown in the screenshot:
In the privacy controls of the stories that are published on Facebook, a new option is added: Share story on Instagram. An option that can work for a particular story or for all those that are published from our Facebook account.
So Facebook stories can be posted on Instagram at the same time. It seems strange that Facebook has not implemented it in a long time. A dynamic that will be practical for those who share the same content on Facebook or Instagram. We already know that the audiences are different on both platforms and also the criteria related to the visualizations of the stories.
A dynamic that content creators can consider as part of their social media strategy. On the other hand, this cross-publishing system between Facebook platforms will also bring some extra features to improve the user experience.
At the moment, Facebook has mentioned that it is only a test and that it will continue to explore new options to improve the dynamics of the Stories in its different services. So it's a matter of waiting for Facebook to decide to launch cross-platform stories.
