Facebook wants a community to create predictions about world events

Facebook has launched a new initiative around the crisis unleashed by the coronavirus. He has developed an application that invites you to create a community to make predictions about world events.

The dynamics of Forecast is based on the raising of different questions related to current events so that users can give their opinion on how it will develop in the future.

In a first stage, the dynamics of the app will be based on COVID-19 and its impact on the world. And to have an informed perspective on the subject, Facebook invite communities of experts to be part of this initiative.

For example, some of the questions that are posed are: Will the elections in the US be fully or partially postponed? Will there be a second wave of COVID-19 cases in the United States in 2020? . Each of these questions or surveys has an expiration date, and participants can vote Y or No.

And of course, these questions will also open spaces for debate or conversations to share different points of view among the interested parties. This dynamic has a moderation system, so all questions created by the community will have to be approved by the Facebook NPE team for publication.

At the moment, only guest users from Canada and the United States can participate in the dynamics of this application, as it is still in the testing phase. However, any user can take a look at the issues being discussed from the web version of Forecast.
