Everything seems to indicate that Facebook would be very interested in showing real-time information about the world of sports to Messenger users, so that they do not have to leave their conversations to be aware of the progress of a match. At least, this is what we have been able to read in TNW, where they echo the story of a user who would have tried this new feature.
According to the source, the social network is beginning to allow some users to subscribe to MLB World Series news, scores and highlights, all within Messenger. In the case at hand, the user we were talking about would have seen a notice appear asking if they wanted to receive updates on matches in the middle of a conversation related to sports. By answering yes, they both started receiving real-time game updates between their messages. At the moment, we are unaware of any additional information about this possible new feature, so we will remain vigilant for any news from Facebook. Still, there is no doubt that this is an interesting way to provide real-time information to users interested in the world of sports.
