The Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas, together with UNESCO, WHO, UNDP and the European Union, has prepared an online course for journalists that will be taught free of charge.
The goal of this program is to help editors and journalists improve coverage of COVID-19 vaccines by providing strategies and resources.
Free Course on Vaccines for COVID-19
The program for this free online course, Coverage of the COVID-19 Vaccine: What Journalists Need to Know, lasts about 4 weeks. It will be taught from Monday, March 29 to April 25 on the platform of the Knight Center, and will be available in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese.
During the program all known vaccines to date will be covered, as well as experimental vaccines, clinical trials and the efficacy of the different formulas. It will also see resources and strategies to eradicate misinformation and debunk fake news and myths around vaccines.
And of course, it will also analyze the distribution of vaccines worldwide and predictions about the state of society after vaccination and what measures will continue to be applied in the future.
Although the program is made up of weekly classes and activities, you can follow them at your own pace, as they are not taught live. Each week you will find video classes along with readings and supplementary material. And of course, it will also be important to participate in the forums and carry out the proposed exercises.
While the entire course program is taught free of charge, those wishing to opt for a certificate of completion will be charged a small fee. To participate in this course, it is only necessary to register on the Knights Center platform following the instructions detailed in this link.
