freedompop, the free mobile Internet and calling service, arrives in Spain

Created in the United States, freedompop arrived in the United Kingdom several months ago and now lands in Spain with its free Internet and voice service.

Available at www.freedompop.com for the first registrations in its beta phase, it is presented as a truly free service that bets on offering a 100% basic mobile service at no cost (including Whatsapp). We just have to insert the FreedomPop SIM card, download its app and voila, navigate, call and receive calls, although the opinions on Google Play are not very positive (it seems that it does not always work as it should).

The service offers 300 MB, 300 minutes of calls and 300 SMS per month, as well as:

– Wi-Fi calls and text messages from anywhere – Free unlimited calls and texts between Freedompop phones – Free international calls from more than 60 countries – 8 million access points with national roaming – Possibility of obtaining virtual number from any part of the world – Free 4G LTE data every month by adding friends – Free unlimited data by completing associated offers

In case you need something more than the basic, they offer prices below what is offered in the market, although the coverage map does not yet cover 100% of the country:

With freedompop it is possible to use our own mobile number on all devices, including tablets. By downloading the app on google play or iTunes, you can already get SMS and calls on any of our devices.

They comment in TC that the objective is to reach more than 500,000 users in two years, a number that they will surely get quickly if, as they promise, they offer WhatsApp for free, without paying data of any kind, although we will have to wait to have it in hand to verify the quality of your connection.
