GitHub has been down for thousands of software developers for a few hours.
The problem began to be noticed first thing in the morning on Monday, and now there are thousands of developers who complain on social networks for not having access to their projects.
We are talking about a service that Microsoft bought for 7.5 billion in 2018 and on which programmers depend to be able to build their projects and maintain version control.
It has been idle for more than an hour, with errors logging into the service, and problems accessing the integrated development environment (IDE) due to how closely related software development is to the service.
GitHub says it is investigating the outage and has identified the source of the elevated errors and is working on recovery. Full recovery is expected to occur within a few hours.
GitHub is a great code repository that has become very popular with developers and companies that host entire projects and code on the service. Professionals from Apple, Amazon, Google, Facebook and many other large technology companies work there, totaling more than 100 million repositories with 40 million developers.
