Google has announced a number of new features in its search results through a press event held today in New York City. These novelties are aimed at those users who are planning their vacations looking for the best deals in terms of flights and accommodation.
In this sense, they incorporate the so-called smart filters, available for now in the United States but that will expand to the rest of the world, in which users will be able to search for hotels under specific criteria, receiving the results according to the locations of the users themselves or of those locations in which they are interested.
About this novelty, users can search for hotels that allow pets and that are below 150 dollars / night in the city of San Francisco, as an example, and can also refine search results through other available filters. In addition, another novelty suggests that Google also highlight those hotel offers whose prices are significantly cheaper than usual, showing them through the organic results. According to Google, in their tests they have observed that highlighting hotel offers, these hotels have received approximately twice as many reservations as the rest of the hotels.
Finally, users will also be able to do price tracking for specific flights on specific dates, sending notifications both by email and through Google Now on Android devices. This novelty will arrive next month in the 26 countries where Google Flights is present.
These innovations have been carried out keeping in mind the increasing use of mobile devices, although they will also be present through the desktop web. Google hopes that these new developments will give travelers the impetus to get the information they need and make their reservations.
