Although not famous, Emu is a startup with a certain pedigree, since it was founded by a former employee of Google and Apple; In this last one I worked in the development of Siri, and this experience was worth to create an instant messaging app with a smart assistant to match. This assistant was able to perform tasks based on our conversations; for example, if we get an appointment with the person we were talking to we can create a gap in our agenda, set reminders so that we are not late or make reservations at restaurants close to the place.
Helper even in our conversations
It sounds very futuristic, maybe too much, and that’s why the app didn’t really take off; It really has only been on the market for a short time since it came out of beta earlier this year. That does not mean that it is a very interesting concept, so much so that Google has been willing to get her ex-employee back along with her personal assistant technology. This means that if you used Emu you should say goodbye since it will close on August 25; But more importantly, we should expect this technology to be used to improve Google Now and its card system depending on our location and tasks, and we could even see improvements in Hangouts in this regard.
