Google Chrome has a new version with a tab search engine and better password management

Google Chrome 88 is already rolling out for all users. This new version combines a number of new functions and removes support for FTP URLs. And of course, Flash support is also left behind.

Some of the new features are designed to improve user productivity from the browser, and others focus on improving password security.

Open Tab Finder and Password Checker in Chrome

Google is boosting the dynamics of Chrome’s password manager with a new feature. In version 88 a new option is added that allows you to verify the status of saved passwords. The process is very simple, as you can see in the image, just click on the icon from your profile to go directly to the password settings.

In that section of the configuration you will find the option Check passwords. Going through a quick scan, it will show you if Chrome has detected any vulnerable passwords. In that case, you will see a message like X security problems found, and at the bottom it will tell you what it is about, for example, weak passwords.

And to make any changes easy, Chrome will allow you to manage all passwords from the settings, so you can correct or change them at any time. It’s a simple dynamic that only takes a few seconds and saves you a lot of headaches.

And on the other hand, a new option is added for those who love to have multiple tabs open in the browser. To make it easy to find an open tab, Chrome adds a search engine. S, a tab browser that integrates into the browser bar.

It is not enabled by default, so you will have to resort to the Chrome flags to have this search engine available. To do this, you just have to go to chrome: // flags / # enable-tab-search, and enable the function. Once you restart the browser, you will see that a small tab is added that scrolls with the search option and the list of open tabs.

And if you wish, you can also use this tool to take a look at all the open tabs and close those that you no longer use and consume resources.
