This cable will consist of 32 fibers, and we will see it ready in 2022. Construction will be the responsibility of SubCom, based in Eatontown, and will have fiber optic switching, a technology that improves the reliability of global communications. It will be the world’s first submarine cable to use switching, helping to redefine traffic when there are outages.
