Google presents a car built by them, without steering wheel, without pedals, without brake …

What you see in the image, and in the video below, is the result of the work carried out by the Google X division, responsible for projects parallel to the company’s main business, such as smart contact lenses, fiber optics, connected clothing to the internet, etc.

The car does not have a steering wheel, pedals, or brakes, it drives itself, as you see in the video, and it was presented by Sergey Brin at the Code Conference as a functional prototype that can change the lives of many people.

With external computers and sensors, Google plans to build around 100 units this summer, although initially they will have manual controls in case something goes wrong, as they comment on the company’s official blog.

They have sensors that eliminate blind spots, and can detect objects at a distance of more than two football fields in all directions, a necessity on busy streets with many intersections. The maximum speed is low, about 40 km / h, it includes two seats (with seat belts), a space for passengers’ belongings, buttons to start and stop, and a screen that shows the route.

They already have a Google Plus page where they will comment on the evolution of the project, which plans to carry out real tests on the streets of California in a couple of years.

We leave you now with the video:
