Google will take the free list of products for sale to your main search engine

Google continues to work to strengthen connections between consumers and retailers through its services. Without going any further, during the month of April, Google began allowing retailers to place their items for sale on Google Shopping at no cost to the United States as a measure to help companies, above all, to small and medium-sized companies, to move forward in a situation of confinement due to the coronavirus pandemic, despite the closure of their physical establishments to the public.

Prior to this change, users only see sponsored links to the products in their searches. With the change, Google has seen a notable increase in web traffic received by retailers, above all, of small and medium-sized companies, as was their objective, improving their sales throughout the United States.

Backed up with the success of this initiative, now Google wants to do something similar on the front page of its search results. In this sense, Google is announcing that, as of this summer, start showing a free list of products for sale in the search results, which will be available through the knowledge panel, according to the searches made by users.

It is in this panel where users can continue to find, until the announced change arrives, a list of sponsored links according to their searches. The deployment initially get to the mobile web version of Google search results, to later proceed to the desktop web version.

Note that, like the previous change, will only be available in the United States, at least for now. For Google, this is a great step forward in democratizing access to digital commerce.

In this regard, we must bear in mind that small and medium-sized companies do not have the same level of resources as large companies to be able to reach the general public.

In addition, Google wants users to be able to find what they are looking for through a broader range of possibilities pertaining to a larger number of retailers. For now we do not know the next steps, but Google already drops that it will soon offer more news.
