Instagram is adding a new function that will allow you to set up to 3 comments at the top.
It seems like a small update, but you can have multiple applications depending on the purpose of each publication. This is part of the new features announced by Instagram to fight bullying.
To test this function you only need to go to the comments section of any publication. You select the comment you want to highlight by sliding it to the left, and choosing the Fix option, as you can see in the image. Automatically the comment will be fixed at the top, and the user will be notified that you have highlighted their participation.
Following this dynamic, you can set up to 3 comments per post. It is simple and practical. This function is intended to highlight those comments that are positive or that contribute in some way to the rest of the audience, and can be used in different contexts. For example:
- It can be a way of interacting and rewarding the users who participate the most
- It can be a tool to highlight important announcements. For example, if it is the publication of a sweepstakes, the account owner can post the winners’ comments
- It can also be useful to highlight those comments that clarify a debate that has been created or resolve any doubts about the publication.
And of course, it is a great way to focus all your attention on positive comments, and not give place to those users who only comment to generate controversy or harass other users. In the latter case, you can use the same menu that is displayed by sliding the comment to the left to delete those comments or report them to Instagram.
This new feature is already rolling out to all accounts. If you still don’t see it, try updating the Instagram app from Google Play.
