LG unveils world’s first curved phone: LG G Flex # mwc2014

If yesterday we presented the Sony Xperia Z2, and the Samsung Galaxy S5, today it is LG’s turn, with its G Flex: the first curved phone in the world, and also flexible.

It has a screen 6 ″ POLED (the P, made of plastic, is the one that allows curvature) and a resolution of 1280 × 720, but without a doubt what characterizes it the most is its 700mm radius. This causes a curvature that is also flexible: The phone can be placed on a smooth surface and pressed until it is flat (we have checked it!). Although of course, they recommend not to do it for a long time.

According to LG, its curvature provides several advantages, such as a better and more natural reproduction of videos at close range, up to 3dB ms in sound quality during calls (for the best coupling to the mouth and ear), as well as 3dB ms when playing music on a flat surface. Its back defines it as regenerable, since it fixes the small scratches that daily life may cause.

With a Snapdragon 800 chip, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, it is true that it does not offer anything too revolutionary. It comes with the latest version of Android, 4.4.2 KitKat. The battery is 3,500mAh, and it should be enough even having such a large screen (and also, as a curiosity, it is also curved). Your camera is from 13Mpx, and also has functions of selective focus once the photo has been taken, just like the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Undoubtedly, one of the terminals that has raised the most expectations at this Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
