Logitech launches special cable for conference rooms

With the new reality, video conferencing is more common than before. Millions of people working remotely have to adopt new customs, and companies have to adapt their infrastructure to this reality.

That’s why manufacturers keep releasing devices that make conferencing easier and easier, and Logitech can’t be left out.

It has introduced the Logitech Swytch, a small cable that makes conference room hardware kits, such as Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms, compatible with any video conferencing service. Using a USB connection, the cable simply connects a user’s laptop to the hardware in the conference room.

The Swytch USB connector offers native support for almost any external video conferencing platform or streaming software. The trick is that it consolidates HDMI and USB into a single cable to project a laptop screen onto the living room screen, and it manages to do so at resolutions up to 4K with pretty crisp audio. In the image above we can see the cable above and the chaos that they want to solve just below.

They want that joining a video call does not depend on the platform with which it is made, they want it to be as simple as making a phone call, and for that they have designed the Swytch, which works with laptops that use USB 3.0 or higher with Type controllers. A or Type C and DisplayLink.

It is logically compatible with Logitech Sync, so that it is possible to monitor and manage the device with the rest of the company’s equipment.

The only one but is its price: $ 999, available from its website logitech.com.
