If you don’t know what this is all about, you may be wondering what mobile payments are? Well it’s simple: pay with our mobiles with an ultra simple and safe process, because those two words are essential for this to succeed: simplicity and security, so that the user ends up trusting the system.
In recent months we have seen how Apple Pay and Android Pay, Google’s solution, have appeared, but at the moment neither works in Spain.The Samsung South Koreans were not going to stay behind and announced Samsung Pay, their own solution that, for the moment, only It is compatible with some Galaxy models.
After a long wait, since June 2 it is already available in Spain, Samsung Pay is already operational and you can start paying with your mobile.
How Samsung Pay works
Samsung Pay is a mobile payment system, therefore it allows you to carry out transactions with a simple gesture: move the smartphone closer to the telephone or the payment option contact that they have in commerce. It works thanks to the NFC technology, which is in charge of establishing communication with the sales terminal, even if you do not have coverage when making the payment.

Banks compatible with Samsung Pay

At the moment, the only two banks that are officially supported are La Caixa and ImaginBankSo your customers can add their cards to Samsung Pay. However, there are also other companies and services that have announced that they will be compatible, such as Repsol or El Corte Ingls.

In addition, as we were told during the presentation, Samsung is collaborating with multitude of companies in the catering, food, service station and more sectors, such as Cpesa, MediaMarkt, Mercadona, Repsol, La Surea, Dominos Pizza, DIA, 100 Montaditos and many more. The idea is to offer an added value proposition, which makes us think of loyalty cards that we can add to Samsung Pay.
In addition, they have also communicated that Samsung Pay technology can be used to make payments online, making things easier when we do not have our card nearby or other payment methods such as Paypal are available.
