LaSanDisk Extreme microSDXC UHS-1 is the new World’s fastest 256GB microSD card.
Remember when a 16MB memory card was milk? Times change and storage options have increased outrageously, at the same time that read and write speeds have also accelerated.
Taking advantage of the Mobile World Congress in Shanghai, SanDisk (Western Digital brand) has presented two new cards high-capacity microSD, with nothing less than 256GB of storage. That is not the news, since we already have others with that capacity on the market, but the Extreme model is the fastest in the world in its category.
SanDisk Extreme microSDXC UHS-1
Every day we generate more and more content and generally also take up more storage space. It is already common to talk about smartphones, action cameras, drones and other devices that record video in 4K resolution and, as usual, the files generated have a great weight.
That is the goal that SanDisk wants to cover with this type of cards. The SanDisk Extreme microSDXC UHS-1 is the world’s fastest 256GB microSD card, capable of reaching up to 100MB / s read and write speed up to 90MB / s with the UHS-I interface (of course it is compatible with current devices with microSDHC support, but speed is limited).
For its part, the other announced model is the SanDisk Ultra microSDXC, with the same 256GB of storage, but slightly slower with transfer speeds of up to 95 MB / s, which is not bad either.
