Security issues in Photoshop, update with the new patch

If you have Photoshop CC 2019 or Photoshop 2020, it is important that you update your software with the latest patch released by Adobe, since otherwise we could put our system at risk.

Shortly after offering the company’s standard monthly security update, Adobe issued security advisories that revealed a total of 13 vulnerabilities, 12 of which are considered critical, and the affected platforms were:

– Photoshop CC 2019 – versions 20.0.9 and earlier – and Photoshop 2020 – versions 21.2 and earlier – on Windows machines. – Adobe Bridge, versions 10.1.1 and earlier, both on Windows and macOS. – Adobe Prelude, on versions 9.0 and earlier.

All these vulnerabilities are considered critical, since if they are exploited, they can lead to the execution of arbitrary code, that is, the code that the hacker wants could be executed, putting both our computer and the data at risk for both Photoshop users and users. for those of Bridge. In the case of Prelude there are also four critical vulnerabilities, read and write problems out of bounds.

The issues were found by Mat Powell of the Trend Micro Zero Day Initiative (ZDI), who was credited with and thanked for finding and disclosing the vulnerabilities. Speaking to SC Media, ZDI said the vulnerabilities could be triggered by victims opening a malicious file or visiting a website designed for the infection.

In addition to the fixes issued for the above software, Adobe also released a patch for Adobe Reader Mobile on Android mobile devices. It was described as a cross-cutting directory issue, if exploited the vulnerability could lead to information leaks.
