Snapchat releases design and new features

Snap Partner Summit 2020 brought a series of firsts for Snapchat dedicated to both users and developers.

A new design that organizes the sections better, new features that enhance its dynamics and a series of surprises have already been seen.

For example, in the new design you can see a new navigation bar that makes it easier for users to access the content that interests them at the moment. They will find new sections, one of them dedicated to Map Snaps and another to discover original Snapchat content, as well as a personalized feed of updates for the user.

One of the novelties to highlight is that it adds a feature that allows locating nearby businesses and premises or that are related to the user. It works like a mini Google Maps that allows you to view information about related companies, such as their opening hours or reviews taken from Foursquare and TripAdvisor.

On the other hand, they announced the launch of Snap Minis, small apps within Snapchat that add a plus to the social component. These minis can be found within the chat and allow you to carry out a series of activities with friends, as shown in the video.

If you are a heavy Snapchat user you can now use the camera to scan dogs and plants to identify them. As mentioned, it can recognize up to 400 breeds of dogs and up to 90% of plants.

And new types of filters have also been added, such as Local Lens that promises to turn the streets into a collaborative art project taking the potential of Augmented Reality to the streets to the next level, as anticipated in the video:
