Sonos introduced its new portable speaker with tons of features that make it one of the best offerings of the brand.
This new speaker, Sonos Roam, combines some features that we already saw in Move with new features at a tempting price. And it’s small and compact enough to easily take it anywhere.
Sonos Roam, a portable speaker with up to 10 hours of autonomy
Sonos Roam has two features that stand out: it is small and inexpensive. It is light, weighs only about 430 grams and measures 168 x 62 x 60 mm. However, it has many things to offer users, whether they want to use it horizontally or vertically.
For example, it has 2 amplifiers (class H), a mid-woofer, a tweeter, touch controls, a microphone with noise cancellation and a battery that can offer up to 10 hours of autonomy. In addition, it is compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant and AirPlay 2.
And of course, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. So you can seamlessly connect it to home router, mobile devices, other speakers, etc.
A simultaneous connection to WiFi and Bluetooth makes streaming seamless wherever you are. When you’re listening at home, Roam connects to your system and broadcasts on WiFi, and when you leave it, it intuitively switches to Bluetooth and automatically re-pairs with your mobile device.
One detail to highlight is that it is IP67 certified, so not only can you move around without problems with Sonos Roam thanks to its lightness and compactness, but also because it has a high level of resistance to dust and water.
And of course, many speaker features take advantage of the Sonos ecosystem, for example integrating the Sound Swap feature that allows music to be passed to another speaker and the Automatic Trueplay feature that adjusts the sound with the environment in mind.
This speaker will be available at a price of 179 euros from April 20.
