Sony begins selling its “smart glasses” to developers

The SmartEyeglass from Sony, presented almost a year ago as a prototype, begin to sell from today among the developer community, virtual reality glasses, with a concept similar to that of Google Glass, which we can have for 670 euros.

The goal is to have a final consumer ready version during 2016, although for that it is necessary for developers to be interested in offering interesting products using their new SDK.

In the note released today they show the sensors you see in the upper screenshot, as well as link to the web, where it is possible to see more product details: a CMOS image sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope , electronic compass, light sensor, microphone … data that will be used together with the GPS information to connect to the mobile phone to provide the user with the appropriate information at the right time. The launch includes a selection of applications available to download from Google Play, apps that allow access to Twitter, Facebook, Gmail, RSS, calendar and voice control.
