The Government of Spain already has its mobile infection tracking application, dependent on the Apple and Google API, to prevent the spread of those infected by the coronavirus. Before offering it nationwide for next fall, the Spanish government will carry out a pilot test on the Canary Island of La Gomera, promoted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, in coordination with the Canary Islands Health Service.
This test will begin this coming Friday and will last for two weeks, and will consist of the simulation of a virtual regrowth in the capital of the island of La Gomera with about 300 virtual infected, seeking that about 3,000 citizens participate in it, so that Download and install the application so that you can be notified on your cell phones if you have been in contact with some of those infected.
The Government intends to evaluate the technical aspects of the application, as well as the experience of use, to make all the necessary adjustments before putting it into circulation during the months of September and October, although according to government sources, the last word for the adoption of the application will be the corresponding autonomous communities.
As we explained previously, the new application, dependent on the Apple and Google API, will use Bluetooth technology for its correct operation, which will allow the exchange of anonymous identifiers directly between the different mobile devices, without dependence on a central server, when its users are less than two meters away in a period of time of at least 15 minutes, which will allow a person infected by Covid-19 to send a notification to all those who have been in contact with him.
