There is less left for the new version of Google’s operating system for smart phones to officially reach the market, although as of today, those interested in testing the new features of Android 11, can already go to its beta version, initially available for Pixel 2+ phones to expand to other phone models over the next few weeks.
The company initially planned to hold an event in streaming on June 3, although several days before they chose to cancel the celebration and decided to set a later date to launch the expected beta, which arrives today accompanied by a series of videos and online resources instead of a presentation event.
Android 11 is based on three fundamental keys: facilitate communication between people, introduction of new ways to manage connected devices and media, and the more than necessary improvements in privacy.
Regarding facilitate communication between peopleAndroid 11 will take conversations from multiple applications to a new space in the notifications section, where users will not only be able to see received messages but also give them answers and manage all conversations in one place, allowing to define conversations as important to give them. priority.
In addition, to avoid switching between applications comes the new Bubbles function, which facilitates the monitoring of conversations from notifications without having to leave the application that is open in the foreground. Finally, Gboard in Android 11 offers automatic suggestions of texts and emojis while you type, working locally without Google seeing anything of what users type.
Regarding new ways to control connected devices and media, Android 11 allows you to control all smart devices quickly and easily, from the same place, simply by pressing the power button for a long time, allowing aspects such as temperature adjustment, opening doors or turning on the lights, avoiding the need to use multiple applications.
The controls of the devices will appear along with other quick functions, trying to turn mobile phones into a kind of digital wallet, facilitating access to payment control functions, boarding passes, among others.
And finally, there are new media controls that make it easy to change the playback device, both when an audio is playing and when a video is playing.
And finally, with regard to privacy enhancements, Android 11 release controls for the most delicate permissions, although the unique permissions also arrive, that is, permissions that are granted once for the applications, which must reapply for the permissions in the successive uses of the same, either permission access to the camera, microphone, or location.
In addition, if an application is not used for a long period of time, all associated permissions will be restored, allowing them to be granted again in the next use.
Google points out that Android 11 also comes with other new features, such as screen recorder, updated voice access function, improvements in both the share menu and performance in general, among others.
