Drones record amazing videos, there is no doubt about that, but the video that has been viral all over the world for 3 days shows exactly what we are talking about.
This is a video of a drone filmed in a Minneapolis bowling alley, and Hollywood professionals have started to open their mouths, some of them have not yet closed it.
The drone operator, who shot the 87-second video, wanted to gain support for the business, but the video has already been viewed hundreds of thousands of times on social media and has won praise from Hollywood directors. Only on YouTube it has almost 500,000 visits:
This is a continuous shot, shot at high speed, in tight spaces and without digital effects. The skill of the pilot is surprising, he does not collide with anything, even passing between people’s legs.
Director Lee Unkrich, whose 2017 film Coco won an Academy Award for best animated feature, has already given his opinion: This is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. Todd Vaziri, a visual effects artist who has worked on Star Wars and Transformers movies, said: This kind of wonderful photographic innovation adds to the language and vocabulary of film.
Right Up Our Alley was filmed by drone operator Jay Christensen, and was made as part of a project to document known companies in Minnesota that are threatened by the pandemic, said Brian Heimann, producer at Rally Studios, the company that produced it.
Heimann said the video, directed by Anthony Jaska, was shot in one shot with a racing drone, on the 10th attempt after nine takes. He said the drone survived the dramatic accident in the end.
It’s a good way to tell the world Here we are, but it sure has also thrown good old Jay to the star.
