This electric helicopter does not need a pilot, it is an autonomous taxi

Passenger Drone has already presented a functional prototype of its autonomous flying taxi.

When autonomous cars are not even fully developed and when they have not even reached our streets (in a massive way), there are several companies around the world developing the autonomous helicopter, possibly one of the most capable drivers to carry autonomous technology. to our day to day.

We recently saw the autonomous electric drone that could carry up to two passengers on a half-hour flight at 100 km / h. It has been in development since 2011 and the parent company of Mercedes-Benz and Smartes the main financial partner of the project. A few days ago the first test flight was made and it was the very prince heir to Dubai who pressed the button, although he did not board and the flight was made empty.

Flying and autonomous taxis, next

In this case, it is an unknown company that has been developing the autonomous flying taxi for 3 years. It’s called the Passenger Drone, as is, and you already have a fully functional prototype. In the following video we can see it on a test trip without passengers:

It has 16 electric rotors, unlike the Dubai flying taxi that incorporates 2 ms, a total of 18. It has an autonomy of about 32 kilometers and it can reach a top speed of 80 kilometers / hour, magnitudes also lower than the taxi financed by Mercedes, which, as we say, is capable of reaching 100 km / h for half an hour.

There have also been tests with passengers, of course (although without having to drive):

Stabilization systems and the circuitry in general is connected by optical fiber, which increases the reliability and security of the helicopter thanks to the significant increase in speed in data transmission.

According to the signature behind this helicopter, there is not a single traditional cable in the machine apart from the power cables, where of course they are totally necessary and the only option. At the moment it is capable of carrying up to two people at the same time.

Not only is it a very good idea for decongest traffic in very large and overcrowded citiesit would also serve as relief vehicle in hard-to-reach areas or in rescues, for example to pick up someone who has become stuck hiking or even for rescues in the open sea (with the appropriate modifications, of course).
