Twitter Begins Attacking Tweets Associating 5G With Coronavirus

Yes, there are many people in the world who still think that the coronavirus has been generated by 5G networks, and many of those individuals have Twitter.

Fake News, and alarmist news in general, manage to increase their visibility faster than the rest. Millions enjoy conspiracy theories, according to some experts, because that way they manage to put the blame for misfortunes on other people or organizations, thus freeing themselves of the responsibility of moving society forward.

Be that as it may, the fact is that no matter how much it is disclosed, thousands of people will continue to believe that the Earth is flat and that 5G spits out coronavirus.

On May 12, Twitter created a page to report on the subject, and now it expands its visibility with an alert message every time they find a tweet that relates 5G and Covid-19.

They are adding a label with information about the facts about COVID-19, and by clicking on it we will go to the aforementioned page: No, 5G is not causing the coronavirus, with news, fact-checking organizations and government agencies discrediting the conspiracy theory.

Label example

Twitter confirmed the move in a statement given to Business Insider. They say they will only remove tweets entirely when it contains a call to action that could cause harm, but not take enforcement action on every Tweet that contains incomplete or disputed information about COVID-19.

In some cases, Twitter appears to be applying the label out of caution, even when a tweet does not explicitly say that 5G is causing the coronavirus.

The problem is that even if it is disclosed, warned, and confirmed otherwise, those who believe in conspiracy theories will continue to do so.
