WhatsApp officially launches its first pack of animated stickers

We have been talking for weeks about the arrival of animated stickers to WhatsApp, a feature that has long been implemented in its most direct rival, Telegram. Just a week ago we told you that animated stickers are already being seen in the latest beta versions of WhatsApp for some users, although the arrival of animated stickers is closer to reaching all users.

And now, the popular messaging service, owned by Facebook Inc, has just officially launched the first pack of animated stickers, which can be downloaded and used by all those users who have the most recent betas (better if they have the latest beta version for Android and iOS) and already have access to them.

To do this, they will only have to go to WhatsApp Store, where Playful Piyomaru will be waiting for you, a yellow Japanese bird, for download and installation, allowing you to later select and include some of the animated stickers from the pack in your conversations.

It is possible that if you send an animated sticker to a contact who does not yet have access to it, and has the latest beta version, enable the possibility to download and use them on your account.

Access to animated stickers in WhatsApp Store works in the same way as access to static stickers. The thing to keep in mind is that animated sticker packs will weigh more than static stickers.

Let’s not forget that sticker packs are stored on the device itself, taking up space. In this sense, at the moment we do not know what type of development WhatsApp has carried out for its animated stickers, taking into account that Telegram’s animated stickers are, in practice, animated vector graphics, which are also saved in the cloud.

As usual, it only remains to wait for WhatsApp to pronounce itself, indicating, when the time comes, the technology behind its animated stickers, and what possibilities are there for those interested to create their own, which would allow, in the future , that there is a wide variety of packs to choose from.

Finally, and given the impossibility that those interested can currently become new beta testers, since the quota is full on both Android and iOS, Android users have as an alternative the possibility of downloading the .APK of the most recent beta .
