There is something better than having our files in the cloud, editing them. Now an update allows us to edit Office documents in Dropbox.
Dropbox and Microsoft have been very close lately; We have already seen how they joined together to integrate cloud storage functions into Office, and now it is Drobpox’s turn to receive the fruits of this collaboration.
From now on we can edit Office documents in Dropbox just by having an account of the latter, without the need to have an Office 365 account, so we will not need to have Office installed on our system.
How to edit Office documents in Dropbox
We just have to open the file in question, stored in our Dropbox account, and we will see a new Open button that will take us to Office Online, after accepting access.
All changes we make here will be automatically saved; As we can see, Office Online is practically as complete as the desktop office suite, so we will have no problem doing all kinds of quick edits.
In the same way, if we use Office Online we can also access our documents saved in Dropbox quickly and easily.
In order to edit Office documents in Dropbox it is not necessary to have a payment account in any of the services, with a Dropbox Basic enough (although we can also in Dropbox Pro and For Business, of course).
